On Saturday, 16 November 2024 at the UIPM Congress in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the words ‘adventure racing’ were excluded from the definition of UIPM Sports.
It is with thanks to the national Pentathlon federations present who raised and debated this motion to remove ‘adventure racing’ from the proposed definition of UIPM Sports in Motion EB3 at UIPM 2024 Congress.
The revision took out all of the proposed and listed standalone disciplines Obstacle sports, and was then passed.
This is not the end though. While the wording Adventure Racing has been removed, we still have a battle to get World Obstacle to let go and to cease their claim on adventure racing, and remove it from their website.
